Festival of Sails

Sun, sand and sails will characterise celebrations at Redcliffe’s Suttons Beach on Good Friday, April 10 for the annual Redcliffe Festival of Sail.

The event marks the start of the Easter long weekend and provides festival goers with a perfect vantage point for this year’s 61st Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race.

Running from 9am to 4pm, the festivals major attractions will include a huge sand sculpture of a sailing ship crafted by world renowned sand sculptor Dennis Massoud and a visit by the Easter Bunny who will skydive on to Suttons Beach.

The day will be packed with live music including internationally renowned duo Women in Docs and world music band and Woodford Festival favourite, OKA. The festival will also feature performances from Central Sound Machine, The Twine and Dave Johnson on the didgeridoo.

The first yachts will reach Suttons Beach at around 11.30am. More than 200 top quality art, craft, market and food stalls would line the Moreton Bay foreshore at the Suttons Beach festival site and Redcliffe Jetty Markets along Redcliffe Parade.
