Festival of Sails Easter 2010

Sun, sand and sails will characterise celebrations at Redcliffe’s Suttons Beach on Good Friday, April 2nd 2010 for the annual Redcliffe Festival of Sail.

This colourful, seaside carnival runs in conjunction with the annual Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race and has over a hundred specialty market and gourmet food stalls dotted along Suttons Beach.  Entertainment includes live music, roving entertainers, an Easter pantomime, a parachuting Easter Bunny, Easter egg hunt on the beach, large sand sculpture and sand-sculpting workshops with world famous Sandman, Dennis Massoud plus the building of a huge sand labyrinth.

The musical line-up will include national busking champions The Twine, Tigerlilly, The Little Steely Brothers and multi-instrumentalists Juzzie Smith, Matt James, Mic Travers Celtic Trio and Sax Essentials.

Other activities on offer include The Rainbow’s Eco Shows and Eco Activities, kite making and kite flying demonstrations, Crazy Candle making, Arty Brella workshops, Make a Boat - Paint a Boat kids workshop, Artists Afloat – Out and About demonstrating throughout the park, beach tennis and volleyball, "Life Be In It" beach games, “come and try” with Redcliffe Outriggers, African drumming workshops, the Great LEGO building challenge (register at LEGO marquee), plus a bungy trampoline/rockwall,  amusement, camel and pony rides. 
Entry is free – many activities are free.
